Recently, the central government has taken a major decision for the general class people of the country.
People of the general class have been demanding to implement the reservation system on economic basis for a long time.
Finally, the EWS reservation system has got the approval of the central government.
Now, like ST, SC and OBC, people of general category will also be able to take full advantage of reservation.
The EWS bill was approved by the President of India on 12th January 2019. On 14th January 2019, Gujarat became the first state to enact this law.
The benefit of reservation should be given to those who need it most, for this, the government has made certain rules, which the general class people will have to follow. If one does not follow the rules, he/she will not be able to avail the reservation.
The benefit of reservation to the general category will be given only to those who are financially weak. A 10 percent reservation will be given in direct recruitment in civil posts & services or admission in higher education as per the government order to them.
